Two days ago in my preferred internet café: 'Hey, there's only an attractive Thai lady next to me, chatting in Thai and English, so no worries, I can have a private phone call via Skype'. But as soon as I hung up, she asked me: "Und, war die Verbindung gut?"
Well, to put it mildly, I was quite surprised ;). It turned out that May had moved to Germany seven years ago and understood me pretty well *g*. But you really noticed the language confusion after two months of traveling: Within the two days I spent with her it happened quite often that I talked to her in English (instead of using German) *g*
And the morale of the story: Never ever assume that the people around you don't understand you 😉
